Here’s a message the media doesn’t want you to hear from the :
To gay Americans: you’re free to marry who you want (if you want), without the government standing in your way. But that doesn’t mean men should compete with women in sports.
To black Americans: the media has tried to convince you for decades that Republicans don’t care about your communities. We want for you what we want for every American: safe neighborhoods, clean streets, good jobs, a better life for your children, and a justice system that treats everyone equally – regardless of your skin color or your political beliefs.
To every *legal* immigrant: you’re like my parents. You deserve the opportunity to secure a better life for your children in America. But our message illegal immigrants is also this: we will return you to your country of origin, not because you’re all bad people, but because you broke the law.
To Gen Z: you’re going to be the generation that actually saves our country. You want to stand up to the man? Try calling yourself a conservative. Say you want to get married, have kids, & teach them to pledge allegiance to our country.
My message to everyone who disagrees with us is this: we will still defend to the death your right to say it.
Because that’s who we are as Americans.
America’s declining birthrate is a far greater risk to our future than, say, climate change - yet most politicians are too scared to talk about it & now it’s apparently taboo. But here are the facts: our nation’s birth rate is now down to 1.62 births per woman, the lowest in history and well below replacement rate.
It's not even that people don't want kids. In fact, American women on average have *fewer* children than they say they’d hoped for.
The “graying” of America means an overloaded healthcare system & eventually higher taxes for all. Today, there are only about 3 workers for every retiree. By 2060, that number will be down to 2. This is staggering & unlike any other period in our history.
An aging labor force also means lower rates of business formation and slower economic growth. Every 10% increase in the proportion of individuals over 60 is estimated to reduce GDP per capita by 5.7%.
The birth rate crisis is a symptom of a deeper economic malaise. The right answer is simple: slash the oppressive regulatory state, drill, frack, end dumb occupational licensing laws, and restrictions on new housing to unleash the supply of everything.
This is all a symptom of a deeper crisis of meaning. If you believe the country isn’t going to last or that your kids don’t have the same shot at the American Dream that you did, you’re less likely to have kids - or to bother to be productive yourself, for that matter.
If we fix the economy & solve our national identity crisis, we fix the fertility crisis. But we don’t have a lot of time left to do it.
Time for our side to wake up to some hard realities, fast:
1. Stop calling on Biden to step down or to be forced out. That will just give Kamala all the benefits of running as an incumbent U.S. President. And she won’t be any better for America in the next 5 months than Biden will be.
2. Stop attacking Kamala for locking up too many people as a prosecutor. It lends credibility to the otherwise ridiculous claim that she’s a “law-and-order” candidate.
3. Stop saying that Kamala covered up to help Biden, while also saying that Kamala staged a coup to overthrow Biden. It doesn’t make sense to say both at once. And if we say things that don’t make sense, we will lose votes.
Our biggest risk isn’t that voters will suddenly fall in love with Kamala. She didn’t even make it to her own party’s Iowa caucus because voters didn’t like her, *despite* fake enthusiasm the media tried to generate around her even back then.
Our biggest risk is we get distracted & forget to offer our own vision for the future of the United States of America.
We’re going to win this thing by defining who we are & what we actually stand *for*. Merit. Free speech. Self-governance. The rule of law.
A historic landslide for Trump is still achievable. It’s up to us to seize it. 
We’re not running against a candidate. We’re running against a machine. That machine has crushed the will of everyday citizens in BOTH parties, including Democrats. A lot of those Democrats are sick and tired of being lied to. Our message to them is this: you deserve a President & a party who tells you the TRUTH.
