A recent video by conservative YouTuber Nick Shirley alleged nearly a dozen day care centers in Minnesota that are receiving public funds are not actually providing any service. After the video went viral, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced a "massive investigation on childcare and other rampant fraud" in the state.
CBS News conducted its own analysis of nearly a dozen day care centers mentioned by Shirley: all but two have active licenses, according to state records, and all active locations were visited by state regulators within the last six months. CBS News' review also found dozens of citations related to safety, cleanliness, equipment, and staff training, among other violations, but there was no recorded evidence of fraud.
Maternity Care Coalition in Philadelphia reportedly received $23 million to run daycares and provide other services.
It’s a nonprofit located in a seemingly abandoned building with blacked-out windows.
Nobody answered the door during business hours, and their voicemail is outdated (references Independence Day).

I went to 4 more Somali childcare locations today.
Two told me they weren’t childcares despite receiving hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars.
One which claimed they weren’t a childcare received over $800,000 since 2023.

Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services brought them in. They get paid thousands of dollars per. They teach them the scams. Republicans are in on the fraud. Tom Emmer himself woke scolded people questioning the replacement migration and systemic fraud.

Why would we want them to import their culture to America? Surely we have something to teach them. Sadly we didn't do that. As a result, 86% of Somalis are on public assistance.
Being taxed at ten percent of your income and you’re paying for highways and the military.

They found a Somali ran "home healthcare" company running out of the same addresses of many other businesses. The same registered owner has many businesses registered to an address that is... the public library ! They all have fake Google reviews written by Africans the very same day that their Facebook pages were all created, with websites that are 100% stock photos (on its own not damning.)

You’re never going to guess what happened when Rich McHugh from NewsNation went knocking on the door of several assisted living facilities in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Turns out that despite being currently under indictment for defrauding the state of millions of dollars, the state is still paying the owner millions of dollars a year.

The media made a big show of the 2018 raids of ten daycare facilities. They seized a bunch of boxes and bank accounts. They forced the facilities to close and the owners to agree not to start new centers. No one was prosecuted. Instead the facilities reopened under new names, new licenses, and new straw owners. The fraud continued. At the time the state knew the issue encompassed dozens of daycare facilities. The problem has only grown over the last seven years.
