This is how the scam works…

The X post by Liz Churchill describes a scenario where a Somali individual in Washington State with four children and their sister, who also has four children, both apply for state-paid childcare by claiming to be in-home child care providers for each other's children.

Washington State pays in-home child care providers between $24 and $33 per hour per child, leading to a potential daily earnings of $768 for caring for four children at $24 per hour for eight hours.

This amounts to $3,840 per week for five days of work, and approximately $16,128 per month when considering 4.2 weeks per month.

The post suggests that such arrangements allow the individuals to deduct business expenses like home, food, car payments, insurance, and more, potentially making them still eligible for state-paid childcare.

Except they’re both really only taking care of their own kids and our tax dollars are paying them for doing what everyone else in America does for free.

Your rates are a bit off, but if they are actually watching the children and not just keeping the kids at their house this is legal. WA actually encourages people running in home daycares to send their kids to daycare and they won't have to pay the normal copays. I'm just sitting here in shock. And thinking I should start a daycare.

The daycare "learing" centers in Minnesota and other states are just an extension on this scam. The "sisters" living next door to one another is a means to get around the polygamy laws on the books in many states. No doubt the sister next door is actually another wife and the father splits his time. The daycare centers are a means to take the kids these families are already being paid to take care of and open a commercial facility that gets additional state and federal funding. In essence the taxpayers are getting bilked twice for each kid. For US citizens considering doing something like this forget it. These programs are only available to immigrants at your expense.

Exactly!!! I noticed a lot of the owners seem to be men… Was thinking they take multiple wives who can claim single income or low income status and receive assistance for all the children benefits including childcare. Why their undocumented husbands receives the subsidy and funding for the daycare for his own children.

My friend's daughter is a science teacher in the Seattle school system. She earns a very good salary. She has a masters in Education, and Physics, and BioChemistry, with an undergrad minor in Art. These no degree women are "earning" way more than a science teacher with 10 years experience.... paid to take care of their own children. The teacher has no children of her own because they can't afford kids, the price of daycare is too high for them. It's expensive to live in Seattle, expensive place to buy a MODEST HOME, price $630,000.
