It’s the beginning of The Golden Age, Eric. If we focus on the fact that literally everything is broken and worsening, we look doomed. If we realize the most capable people in America have simultaneously agreed to fix it, hello Golden Age. We exist in a Schodinger’s Cat reality until we know for sure which way it goes. But deciding has replaced wanting. That’s new. Spoiler: The cat lives.

A feeling I’ve been keeping mostly to myself: this doesn’t seem like an election year to me. I just don’t see 2024 as a presidential election. I really don’t know what this is, and lack the language to describe it. Anyone else feeling like you don’t know what we’re watching?
